Abstract: Nanotechnology is predicted to transform the entire food industry, changing the way food is produced, processed, packaged, transported, and consumed. This short report reviews the key aspects of these transformations, highlighting current research in the agrifood industry and what future impacts these may have.

I have read the report and any report is good for nanotechnology or biotechnology or nanoscale technology. The report mentions particle sizes as small as 100 and 200 nanometers, which is really outside the definition of nanotechnology. These products might have a mode of action that is biological in action.
The product we have worked with are less than 1 nanometer or just 8 angstroms and use quantum electro-mechanical phyiscs to feed plant cells. The product chemistry is not hydrocarbon based but carbonhydrate or made of FDA food additives, so its 100% food. We dont sell the product in the USA currently as we are focused on Asia. Our applications are food production and processing and recently in New Delhi, India ASSOCHAM Nanobio 2006 we presented in a session called Feeding 9 Billion people by 2050. It appears that our product is about 200 times smaller than any top 10 agrichem nanoscale product! The link is www.nanogreensciences.com/anb2006.html
