The organisation The Platform “Nano-Regulation” is an project whose activities are supported by industry, government, academia and non-governmental organisations. The project was launched in spring 2005 by “The Innovation Society” (www.innovationsociety.ch) in cooperation with NanoEurope (www.nanoeurope.com) and the NanoCluster Bodensee (www.ncb.ch). The platform “Nano-Regulation” serves as an internationally focussed Dialogue-platform where relevant regulatory issues of nanotechnology are discussed.
- Establishing an International Stakeholder-Network on regulatory issues
- Monitoring and evaluation of international safety-, risk- and regulation-data
- Promoting Public communication and dissemination of relevant data
- Collaborative policy activities that develop international standards for engineered nanostructure (actionplans, safety guidelines, best practices)
- Organising Stakeholder Conferences & Events where international regulators and nano-professionals meet
Kind of collaboration
Nanoforum and the Nano-Regulation Platform coincide in the aim of assessing, communicating and reducing the environmental and health risks associated with nanotechnology in order to promote a safe and successful use of nanotechnology in the future. To enable this, both organisations publish a link, description of the organisation and regularly updated news and events about the other organisation on their webportal.
