Government Initiatives

In 2003 the UK government announced a 6 year Micro and Nanotechnology Manufacturing Initiative with a budget of £90 million. The main purpose of this initiative was to help industries to harness the commercial opportunities created by nanotechnologies.  Under the capital project the DTI has funded various projects which are of great significance to SMEs as most of the grant has been allocated with the aim of exploiting new technologies.
