ESTONIA Narva Business Advisory Services Centre The primary aim of the Narva BAS is to assist the development of SMEs and local and regional authorities in their economic development strategies. Tartu Business Advisory Services Tartu Business Advisory Services offers SME development support via consulting, training and information services.
The Tartu Science Park acts as a “technology incubator” offering a variety of services to start-up companies from fully developed infrastructure and office services to business and management consultancy. TSP offers laboratory space for rent and consultancy for start-ups.
Tallinn Technology Park (Tehnopol)
The objective of Tehnopol is to establish and develop an innovation-supporting business environment which encourages the transfer of knowledge and technologies between R&D institutions, companies and markets. It also aims to increase the international competitiveness of knowledge-based companies involved in Tehnopol activities.
The Tartu Biotechnology Park was set up with the aim of offering infrastructure and support as well as specific services to biotech and medical companies.
Enterprise Estonia is one of the largest institutions within the national support system for entrepreneurship in Estonia, providing financing products, advice, partnership opportunities and training for entrepreneurs, research and development institutions and the public and third sectors. Enterprise Estonia is one of the institutions responsible for the implementation of EU structural funds in Estonia, as well as being the primary provider of support and development programmes targeted towards entrepreneurs.
The Credit and Export Guarantee Fund KredEx was founded with the aim to improve financing of small enterprises in Estonia.

Estonian Centre for Standardisation
The National Standards Board of Estonia was established as a governmental institution under the administration of the Ministry of Finance to direct and co-ordinate activities in the field of standardisation, metrology and accreditation in Estonia.
The Estonian Nanotechnology Competence Centre (NCC, University of Tartu and 5 business partners) is a consortium of industrial and science partners. It draws funding from public co-financing arrangements, a loan and a KredEx guarantee.
Connect Estonia is an independent non-profit organisation founded in June 2002. The organisation links start-ups, SMEs, researchers, service providers and investors together with the purpose of promoting the growth of small companies.
Estonia is a member of Scanbalt, a meta-network in the Scandinavian and Baltic region. Members are the Estonian Biotechnology Association (
www.biotech.ee) and the Estonian Genome Project (www.genomics.ee).Archimedes Foundation is an independent body established by the Estonian government in 1997 with the objective of coordinating and implementing different EU programmes and projects in the field of training, education, research, technological development and innovation.
European Union Innovation Centre and National Contact Point
The European Union Innovation Centre is a unit within the Archimedes Foundation. The aim of the centre is to enhance the participation of Estonian research, commercial and other organisations in EU research and technological development programmes. The Innovation Centre acts as the EU-National Contact Point (FP5, FP6), National Office for COST network, and National Office for eContent and eTen programmes.
