Czech Republic Ministry of Industry and Trade The ministry of Industry and Trade offers several support measures to SMEs. Czechinvest is an agency of the ministry of Industry and Trade which stimulates foreign investment in the Czech Republic including by offering innovation and technology support. The city of Prague has developed a regional innovation strategy including measures to stimulate high tech SME development. Public-Private centres offering wide support Several CAS institutes are involved in R&D on nanotechnology. The Technology Transfer office of CAS assists SMEs with uptake of technologies developed by CAS researchers. Regulatory and legislative agencies The CMI is the national measurement institute. Among their activities is an international collaboration in a nanotechnology length and roughness measurements. The Czech Society for New Materials and Technologies brings together the Czech nanotechnology community in academia and industry. Miscellaneous Scientific Incubator In 2006, the Czech Technical University in Prague opened a scientific incubator for up to 20 high tech start up companies spinning off from the University. The incubator is enabled by an investment of 500,000 euro by the Swedish investment company IKANO.
